Piston
Piston atau Torak secara umum adalah komponen dari mesin pembakaran dalam yang berfungsi sebagai penekan udara masuk dan penerima hentakan pembakaran pada ruang bakar.
Piston dibuat dari bahan Alluminium dengan campuran beberapa bahan lain seperti Silikon, Tembaga, Besi, Seng, Nikel, dan unsur lainnya dengan persentase tertentu.

Ring Set
Terdiri dari :
Ring No. 1
Ring No. 2
Ring Oli ( motor 2 Tak tidak ada), yang tersusun dari :
- 2 buah Rail
- 1 buah Spacer (Ring cacing)
Ring Set terbuat dari bahan baja karbon spesial dengan kekuatan tarik, kekerasan dan kelenturan yang sangat tinggi.
Selain itu juga di lapis dengan bahan “Nitrided Metal” yang di proses dengan “Gas Nitriding” untuk mendapatkan lapisan Ring Set yang tahan terhadap gesekan, goresan, dan karat
Clip
Di buat dari bahan baja kawat pegas dengan pengerasan bagian luar.
Fungsi dari Clip adalah untuk menahan Pin Piston agar tidak lepas dari Piston.
Clip harus rata dan ke dua ujungnya tidak melengkung.
Tidak ada pengujian khusus untuk Clip.
Bagaimana Cara Pemasangan Ring Set ke Piston yang benar?
Agar Piston lebih mudah dipegang, pasang terlebih dahulu Connecting Rod + Pin Piston + Clip
1. Pergunakan Tang Ring Set (Piston Ring Pliers) agar Ring Set tidak deformasi.
2. Pasang mulai dari Ring Oli terlebih dahulu kemudian Ring No. 2 dan terakhir Ring No. 1
3. Perhatikan bahwa Ring No. 2 warna hitam (4 tak) dan marking A harus menghadap ke atas
4. Atur tiap-tiap Ring mengikuti posisi gambar di atas agar dapat membentuk lapisan pelumas yang cukup dan kompresi yang optimal
Mengapa setelah ganti Piston masih ngebul?
- Pengertian ngebul adalah masuknya oli ke dalam ruang bakar sehingga ikut terbakar bersama dengan bahan bakar
- Kemungkinan masih adanya goresan pada dinding silinder sehingga oli dapat merambat ke ruang bakar
- Hal yang lain adalah tidak sesuainya proses over size (korter) dengan ukuran Piston + Ring Set

Piston
Piston is generally a component of an internal combustion engine that acts as an incoming air suppressor and a burning stroke receiver in the combustion chamber. Piston is made of Aluminum material with a mixture of several other materials such as Silicon, Copper, Iron, Zinc, Nickel, and other elements with a certain percentage.

Testing is done in order to know the quality of Piston, which consist of:
1. Examination of piston outer size:
- Piston size
- Piston hardness
- Piston weight
2. Lab Testing:
-Alignment of piston pin
-Flatness of ring set flow
-Surface roughness of piston body
-Roughness of piston pin holes
-Structure and composition of piston material
-Oval shape of piston body
Ring Set

Ring for Oil (not available in 2 stroke motor), consist of:
-2 pcs rail
-1 pc spacer
Ring Set is made of special carbon steel material with high tensile strength, hardness and flexibility.
It is also layered with "Nitride Metal" material with “Gas Nitriding" process for free friction, scratch, and rust Ring set.
Clip
Made of steel spring wire material with external hardening. The function of the clip is to hold the piston pin and prevent it from separated out of the piston. The clip should be horizontal and the two ends are not curved.
How correctly install Ring Set to a Piston?
For easier piston handling, firstly plug in Connecting Rod + Pin Piston + Clip
1. Use the Ring Set (Piston Ring Pliers) to prevent the Ring Set from deformation.
2. Install from oil ring first then ring no. 2 and then ring no. 1
3. Pay attention that ring no. 2 is black (4 stroke engine) and marking A must face up
4. Arrange each Ring to follow the position as above image in order to form an adequate lubricant layer and optimal compression
Why there is still smoke coming out of engine compartment even after changing the piston ?
-Smoke maybe result of oil that leaks into combustion chamber so it burns along with fuel
-This maybe because of there is scratches in the cylinder wall that allow oil to leak into combustion chamber
-Another cause is that the over size process does not match with piston + ring set dimension
